Frequently Asked Questions

  Can I bring my pet?
Yes! This is a pet friendly event, but it's very important to have your dog on a leash
at all times & cats (or other small animals) secured in a carrier.

  What is the microchip clinic?
Every year, we offer a low cost microchip clinic onsite to help reunite pets with their
families, if they ever get lost. Microchips are safe, painless & effective.
A small chip (the size of a grain of rice) is injected into the area of the pet between the
shoulderblades. The chip stays in the pet throughout the duration of their life. When a pet is
found & brought to an animal shelter or vet hospital/clinic,
the pet is scanned to see if a chip is present. There are many different types of chip
manufacturers, but all microchips & scanners are universal, so your pet's chip will be
  detected.

What do I need to bring to the microchip clinic?
You do not need to bring vaccination records to the microchip clinic. Just bring
  your pet(s)!

  What is the cost?
This year, Kitty Corner of CNY is hosting the chip clinic & the charge is $20 per
pet. The brand they will be using is called 24-Pet Watch.

Will there be puppies at the event?
Local shelters are full of beautiful pets of all ages, breeds, genders & personalities. Each
animal organization will bring as many adoptable pets as they are able to, depending on
the amount of staff and/or volunteers available. Since the population changes on a daily
basis, it's difficult for animal shelters to determine which pets will be available for adoption
until the day of the event.

Will I be able to adopt a pet the same day?
Each animal shelter and pet rescue group has there own adoption policies. Some will allow
for same day adoptions, while others might require a short waiting period. Please ask the
representative of the organization about their adoption policy when you visit.
